Black Saturday Meditation - don't hurry back just yet. Wait on Jesus.

Before we go back to our usual life, to normalcy- let's evaluate what and where we're going back to-at what cost and why.   This meditation comes to me today as a blessing (thank you Fr. Edwin for sharing your readings) as I've been pondering how we are all in rush to go back to our lives past Good Friday. Like the day leaves us with such discomfort, that barely moments after the clock strikes midnight  or even hours before, we are conditioned to head back to where we used to be- without much mindfulness- that where we ought to go, where we should return to- we must bring with us a little more. A little more light, a little more change, a better version of us and our outlook about life and Jesus, and  maybe a whole lot more humility enabling us to embrace the redemption that He offers. After all that's what Jesus gave His most precious blood for- to save just us. How sadly jaded we are sometimes that we do not recognize our sorry states and forget the very life saving graces the lenten season brings to us- is one realization that dawned on me.

For this, let us pray extra hard- that we will not grow dense and callous over the suffering and cross of Jesus, that we will not forget His passion and hence choose to live purposeful faithful and trusting lives.

For this, let us pray that we will not be blinded by the world and that we will see Jesus in the people we encounter.

For this, let us pray that we will not be deaf to Gods calling, to God's will- that in prayer, we may not simply drown in the sound of our voices lifted towards Him but in silence, we also hear Him.

For this we pray, allow us to wait on You dear Jesus a litte while longer. Grant us the grace not to hurry back when we have so much to look forward to because of You. and if we falter, Jesus stay with us just the same.

Amen

Reflection:

There is no WORD today.
It is Black Saturday and He is in the tomb.
We silenced Jesus for we could not live our "normal" lives with Him in our world.
We condemned Him because His works and teachings condemned us.
We must kill those who do good for us because they make us look back...
But Lord, are You really dead ?
No. You are not dead so long as I live.
If I sent You in away in anger, so long as I live, I can call You back again.
If I turned my back on You, so long as I live, I can turn around again.
If I hurt You, so long as I live, I can apologize.
"If You allow my hurts, so long as I live, I can forgive and realize Your design and acknowledge Your will"
But if I do none of these while I live, You are not dead - I am.

Lord, for You no door is closed permanently, no tomb is seated forever. May the same be true for me. Amen
