FOR YOUR REFLECTION TODAY- ASH WEDNESDAY.

Once there was a man with 3 wives.

no. 1 was very loyal and stayed with him through good times and bad. But he did not love her (enough). He ignored her so she became thin sickly and ugly.

no. 2 he loved much more, giving her the best food, clothes, comfort and pleasures.

no. 3 he also loved very much. She was his pride and always presented her to his friends. He was very protective of her.


When he was about to die, he asked no. 2 and 3 to go with him. but they said "no way". in the first place, they cannot. But no. 1 offered, " i will go with you."

We all have 3 spouses.

no. 1 is your SOUL
no. 2 is your BODY
no. 3 is your POSSESSIONS.

In the advent of holy week, please be mindful about the spirit of lent. please spend it with holiness and less wordliness, and a sense of recharge and recollection.

May it enable us to take better care of our souls more than, if not equally,  the physical aspects  of life.



After all-  our souls go with us to heaven, our bodies will be left to fatten the earth, and our possessions, to their ultimate decay.

It is ASH WEDNESDAY today. Three things.



Please be reminded to have confession to start off the lent with a clean heart.

To go to mass TODAY and have the symbolic ASH remind us  where we came from and where we are going. 

It is also a day of fasting and abstinence (one of 2 days in the year, us catholics are obliged to do abstinence- the other is Good Friday) so we pray for the grace to be able commit ourselves to it.
