Jesus, I Trust In You "By far, these simple words spoken is the most efficacious, most yielding prayer we have ever encountered. Yet truly, it remains the antidote to any problem, any concern, any fear or anxiety. Jesus, I trust in You."

How can we help students to see the richness of community service? Teach them. And ask them to love in their own family. Love begins at home. Lots of love always brings lots of peace. That's why it is important for the family to pray together, and they will stay together and love one another. Then it will be easier to be a fountain of love for each other.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. -Ephesians 6:10-12

People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But you man, of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. 1 Timothy 6:9-11

What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battles within you? You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. James 4:1-3

My Child, some people have me on their lips, but not in their hearts. Some their devotions to me with prayer books; some do it with holy pictures; and some do it with holy images or external signs. Now all of these things are good, but they are no proof of true devotion to me. They are only a means to help men practice devotion. These holy objects are useless if they do not influence your daily thoughts, words, and actions.

Behold Your Mother
Behold Your Mother
An excerpt from Father Corapi's book, Letters.
When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing near, he said to his mother, "Woman behold, your son!" Then he said to the disciple, "Behold your mother!" (Jn 19:26-27)
The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ, Mother of the Church, spiritual Mother of each one of us, cannot be ignored without doing violence to the Gospels. She is surely at the very heart of salvation history if for no other reason that she is with her Son from beginning to end. To gain an appreciation of just how involved she is in redemption history, meditate on the twenty mysteries of the Rosary. This gives us a good look at her true place in the Gospels.
Although she is surely the Mother of God as the great Church councils have asserted, and she is the Mother of the Church, as Pope Paul VI proclaimed, she is also a personal spiritual Mother to each and every one of us. To enter into the mystery of Mary is to enter into the mystery of Jesus Christ. Her only true desire is to bring Jesus to us and to bring us to Jesus. One of the great secrets of the spiritual life is to enter into a true and personal relationship with Mary our Mother. Once the soul seeks to draw close to Mary great things will begin to happen. She will intercede for us and great strides in the spiritual life will take place if only we follow her, especially in her humility.
Since the very beginning of my priesthood I have emphasized this relationship with Our Lady, and the prayer of her Rosary. It is one of the three pillars of my preaching. "Everything for Jesus through the hands of Mary, His Mother and ours."
May almighty God bless you and yours: the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Turning the Tide of Evil
Turning the Tide of Evil
An excerpt from Father Corapi's book, Letters.
One of the first things I became acutely aware of as I began ministering as a priest more than 14 years ago was that the vast majority of Catholics have never really learned their faith. For years I administered a simple test at the end of parish missions. The average grade, achieved by adults, was 43%. This failure translates into the ills and evils seen today in contemporary society. Why? For the simple reason that Catholic-Christians are called to be the salt and light of the world. When we fail to do so the world sinks under the weight of its sins. If we do not provide the moral compass to guide the world through dark and turbulent times, no one will.
Learning our faith is a moral mandate. It is not optional. We do it and please God, or we don't do it and don't please God. It isn't rocket science and it doesn't take that great a commitment in time and energy. To fail to do it is to fail in our mission, which is the same as the mission of the Redeemer--Redemption.
There is no opposition between learning and loving. If I love God and my neighbor as myself out of love for God (Charity) then I'll want to know God (Truth). Our ignorance of basic moral and doctrinal teaching is ultimately harmful to ourselves, our families, our Church, our society and our world.
God bless you,
Father John Corapi, SOLT, STD
