We can never know how much good a simple smile can do.

The woman is the heart of the home. Let us pray that we women realize the reason of our existence : to love and be loved and through this love become instruments of peace in the world.

We can only know how much good a simple smile can do.

There is no limit, because God is love and love is God. And so you are really in love with God, and God's love is infinite. And that's why it's not how much you do, but how much love you put into the action.

Self-knowledge puts us on our knees, and it is very necessary for love. For knowledge of God gives love, and knowledge of self gives humility.

God has created us to love and to be loved, and this is the beginning of prayer --- to know that he loves me, to know that I have been created for greater things.

Prayer: Lord, grant that I may seek rather to comfort than to be comforted; to understand rather than be understood; to loved rather than be loved, for it is by forgetting self that one finds. It is by forgiving that one is forgiven. It is by dying that one awakens to eternal life. Amen.

Where man has failed, God will find a way --- if we ask Him.

I think we should teach our children to love one another at home. They can learn this only from their mother, when they see the parents' love for each other.

If we are full of sin, God cannot fill us, because even God himself cannot fill what is full. That's why we need forgiveness to become empty, and then God fills us with Himself.

How can we help students to see the richness of community service? Teach them. And ask them to love in their own family. Love begins at home. Lots of love always brings lots of peace. That's why it is important for the family to pray together, and they will stay together and love one another. Then it will be easier to be a fountain of love for each other.

What a shame if one of our brothers and sisters dies of hunger because of our neglect and selfishness. We will never feel what he poor feel, because we do not have to worry about our next meal, about our clothes, our comforts, we have them all in abundance. Love means to share with others.

Start by making your own home a place where peace, happiness and love abound, through your love for each member of your family and for your neighbor.

God has His own ways and means to work in the hearts of men, and we do no know how close they are to Him.By their actions we will always know whether they are a God's disposal or not.

If you are humble nothing will touch you. If you are a saint, thank God. If you are a sinner, do not remain so.

I will instruct you and teach in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. -Psalm 32:8

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. -1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? -Matthew 16:26

...Do not be hardhearted or tightfisted towards your poor and freely lend him whatever he needs. -Deuteronomy 15:7-8

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." -John 16:33

It is better to get your hands dirty and eat, than to be too proud to work and starve. -Proverbs 12:9

The master may get better work from an untrained apprentice than from a skilled rebel. -Proverbs 26:10

People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But you man, of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. 1 Timothy 6:9-11

Stay with me tonight, Jesus, In life with all its dangers, I need you. Let me recognize you as your disciples did at the breaking of the bread, so that Eucharistic Communion will be the light which disperses the darkness, the force which sustains me, the unique joy of my heart.

Stay with me, Lord, for you are my light, and without you, I am in darkness.

Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak and I need your strength that I may not fail so often.

What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battles within you? You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. James 4:1-3

But as for me, my contentment is not in wealth but in seeing you and knowing all is well between us. And when I awake in heaven, I will be fully satisfied, for I will see you face to face. Psalm 17:15

Any enterprises is built by wise planning, becomes strong through common sense, and profits wonderfully by keeping abreast of the facts. Proverbs 24:3-4

Whoever gives heed to instructions prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. Proverbs 16:20

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind you own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that you daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be depended on anybody. I Thessalonians 4:11-12

Enjoys prosperity whenever you can, and when hard times strike, realize that God gives one as well as the other-so that everyone will realize that nothing is certain in his life. Ecclesiastes 7:14

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46:4

Behold Your Mother

Behold Your Mother

An excerpt from Father Corapi's book, Letters

When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing near, he said to his mother, "Woman behold, your son!" Then he said to the disciple, "Behold your mother!" (Jn 19:26-27)

The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ, Mother of the Church, spiritual Mother of each one of us, cannot be ignored without doing violence to the Gospels. She is surely at the very heart of salvation history if for no other reason that she is with her Son from beginning to end. To gain an appreciation of just how involved she is in redemption history, meditate on the twenty mysteries of the Rosary. This gives us a good look at her true place in the Gospels.

Although she is surely the Mother of God as the great Church councils have asserted, and she is the Mother of the Church, as Pope Paul VI proclaimed, she is also a personal spiritual Mother to each and every one of us. To enter into the mystery of Mary is to enter into the mystery of Jesus Christ. Her only true desire is to bring Jesus to us and to bring us to Jesus. One of the great secrets of the spiritual life is to enter into a true and personal relationship with Mary our Mother. Once the soul seeks to draw close to Mary great things will begin to happen. She will intercede for us and great strides in the spiritual life will take place if only we follow her, especially in her humility.

Since the very beginning of my priesthood I have emphasized this relationship with Our Lady, and the prayer of her Rosary. It is one of the three pillars of my preaching. "Everything for Jesus through the hands of Mary, His Mother and ours."

May almighty God bless you and yours: the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Turning the Tide of Evil

Turning the Tide of Evil

An excerpt from Father Corapi's book, Letters

One of the first things I became acutely aware of as I began ministering as a priest more than 14 years ago was that the vast majority of Catholics have never really learned their faith. For years I administered a simple test at the end of parish missions. The average grade, achieved by adults, was 43%. This failure translates into the ills and evils seen today in contemporary society. Why? For the simple reason that Catholic-Christians are called to be the salt and light of the world. When we fail to do so the world sinks under the weight of its sins. If we do not provide the moral compass to guide the world through dark and turbulent times, no one will.

Learning our faith is a moral mandate. It is not optional. We do it and please God, or we don't do it and don't please God. It isn't rocket science and it doesn't take that great a commitment in time and energy. To fail to do it is to fail in our mission, which is the same as the mission of the Redeemer--Redemption.

There is no opposition between learning and loving. If I love God and my neighbor as myself out of love for God (Charity) then I'll want to know God (Truth). Our ignorance of basic moral and doctrinal teaching is ultimately harmful to ourselves, our families, our Church, our society and our world.

God bless you,

Father John Corapi, SOLT, STD
